The much-anticipated reopening across APAC in 2022 has enlightened the world of commerce. As a global provider of news distribution and earned media software and services, we are at the forefront of welcoming and witnessing the rapid recovery of all kinds of businesses. To stay up to date with industry trends and media development, our Beyond PR Blog is your go-to resource hub. Read on for a recap of the key highlights from this year’s articles.
APAC Media Landscape 2022
The inevitable shift to digital platforms is just the tip of the iceberg for media practitioners and outlets. In the APAC Media Landscape 2022, our Audience Development Team documented the in-depth media development in nine markets across the region. Discussion on social media regulation, rising popularity of short-form videos, and UI/UX optimization are some of the notable trending topics. At the individual level, the general observation is that more journalists take the role of key opinion leaders in their areas of expertise. To learn more about the media landscape, read the two-part blog articles here.
Behind The Byline
We started a monthly podcast called Behind The Byline to get media insights from journalists and editors across APAC. In each episode, the journalist talked about his or her memorable assignments, industry trends, and tips for writing press releases and maintaining media relationships. In a separate blog article, we will highlight the 5 things we learned from them on the podcast. Read the entire series here, and listen to the episodes on Spotify, Anchor, and YouTube.
Our Editorial team is the gatekeeper for all the press releases distributed via our newswire. Besides editing and fact-checking, they keep a watchful eye on the performance and trends of press releases. Every month, our editors Nathan Brown and Collin Cheuk wrote blog articles and examined the top 5 press releases. They analyzed releases about financial results and product launch. They also covered the effectiveness of multimedia elements, SEO tactics, and headlines. Read the entire series here.
Media Coffee Recaps
This summer, we were so excited to bring back our Media Coffee events in Singapore and Indonesia! Due to social distancing measures, it has been more than two years since we met media practitioners, PR pros, and content writers under one roof. In early August, speakers and panelists in Singapore discussed how digitalization transformed the media industry. A month later, key players in the travel sector in Indonesia gathered to explore communications strategies following Covid relaxation. Next year, we look forward to hosting more physical events around the region and meeting you in!
International Day and Global Event
At Cision, we embrace diversity and inclusion. On the International Women’s Day, we published an interview with two DEI leaders, who shared how corporations can foster a more inclusive workplace and communicate gender equality in their investor initiatives.
On the other hand, the sports competition of the year is without a doubt the World Cup. Congratulations to Argentina national football team for bringing the trophy home! Weeks before the tournament, official sponsors of this football megaevent sent press releases to show how their sponsorships can enrich fans’ experience and support the games.
